Hay nets for round bales differ fundamentally from round bale nets. Whereas round bale nets are used for making round bales in the compacting process and are already wrapped around the hay inside the machine to hold it together, hay nets for round bales are used to store the baled hay in appropriate, dry conditions.

The hay nets for round bales available from Safetynet365 measure 1.50 m x 1.50 m x 1.50 m: that is, they are box-shaped with a floor and one open side. The hay net can be either thrown over the round bale and tied closed, or hung up. To hang it up, you need a pulley, which operates using the 2-meter pull cord supplied with it.
The hay net for round bales has a reinforced border on all sides to provide stable, resilient anchorage points. The net is available in two different mesh sizes: 45 mm or 60 mm. The material thickness is a robust 5 mm, giving the meshes a maximum tensile strength of about 3200 N.
The hay net is made of woven plastic –extremely tear proof, knotless polypropylene. The material is rot-resistant and UV-stable, making it weather-resistant enough for years of outdoor use. Owners of livestock and horses will be happy to know that the polypropylene is 100% non-toxic – even when it comes into contact with mucus membranes, which is why it is also used elsewhere as a hayrack net.
