Most birds are welcome guests in the garden: with colorful plumage and cheerful singing, they bring a feeling of summer and lightness. Nevertheless, we do not want to see them in our fruit trees, vegetable beds and even on the freshly sown flower meadow. To protect strawberries from birds and also keep the hungry beaks away from tomatoes, radishes and co. you can install a bird net. This turns flower beds, plantations, but also ponds and facades into a bird-free zone - without any risk of injury or complex installation.

Our bird protection nets are available in different designs: So you can ideally adapt the product to the needs on site and choose between heron nets, pigeon nets and bird protection nets with different mesh sizes. Depending on the area of application, you can decide for yourself whether you need a net with or without a closing edge.

As the name suggests, a bird protection net serves quite classically and simply to repel birds. While cat protection nets and aviary nets, for example, ensure that animals can not escape from the garden, balcony or breeding, bird repellent nets work exactly the opposite: they ensure that no uninvited guests come in.

The nets are used in gardens and on buildings. There they serve a variety of purposes. In the garden behind the house or in the allotment garden club, you can use bird nets to protect your grapes and strawberries from birds, for example, or to secure your richly planted raised bed, or to cover freshly sown lawns and flower seeds, etc., to give thieves from the air no chance.

If you have a pond in your backyard, you can turn to a bird net with a slightly larger mesh size, called a heron net, to keep fish and other pond inhabitants safe. Herons and other animals that might be lurking above the water's surface - whether on two legs or four, with or without wings - are certainly no longer a danger with a large-mesh bird deterrent net.

As another purpose, pigeon nets are installed mainly on buildings. The net with a mesh size of 50 x 50 mm keeps pigeons away from balconies and house facades, but of course can just as well be installed as a protection of trees, yards and other areas on the property.

Especially for pigeon defense, you can still often find so-called pigeon spikes on many public as well as private buildings. These are spikes that are placed in gutters, on roofs and other flat surfaces to prevent pigeons from building their nests there or even just settling down. While such pigeon spikes are an effective bird repellent measure, they are also quite brutal.

The use of a bird net, on the other hand, is a much more gentle alternative and also impresses with maximum flexibility and adaptability. By being able to select the mesh size yourself, you can influence which birds are kept away from the protective net and which are not.

The thickness and manufacturing method of the processed material also ensures that the net remains dimensionally stable even under load. Thus, on the one hand, the defense system remains durable for a long time and at the same time does not pose a serious threat to the birds. While thinner nets could possibly wrap around the birds legs, the high-strength polypropylene poses no significant risk of accidents for the animals. Although they are defended, they cannot get caught in the mesh and simply fly away again. Bird healthy, berries untouched, hobby gardener happy. As the saying goes: All's well that ends well!

This depends primarily on how the nets are installed and what they are used for. In some cases, nets can be dangerous to birds, especially if they are installed incorrectly or not carefully maintained. If nets are installed too loosely, birds can become entangled in them and injure themselves or even die. Also, if nets are installed too tightly, they can cause pain to birds and restrict their movement. It is therefore important that nets for birds are carefully installed and regularly checked to ensure that they are safe for the birds.

Observe the following points so that the nets do not become a hazard:

• Make sure that the net is properly sized. The net should not be too loose, so that the birds can not get caught in it.
• Pay attention to the correct mesh size. A net for protection against birds of prey naturally requires a different mesh size than a pigeon net. You will find different variants for the different bird species.
• Use the correct material for the net. Use only nets that are suitable for bird use and less likely to cause injury. Our nets made of braided polypropylene are soft and provide some flexibility.
• Make sure that the net is properly fastened. The net should be firmly attached to the edges so that it can not come loose and the birds can not slip under it.
• Check the network regularly. It is important to regularly check the netting for damage or other problems and make necessary repairs.
• Use the net only when it is really necessary. In some cases, it may make more sense to take alternative measures to keep the birds away instead of using a net.
