Toad migration is a phenomenon in which toads and other amphibians migrate from their wintering grounds to their spawning grounds. This migration usually takes place in the spring, when temperatures are rising again and the animals are waking up from their hibernation. Toad migrations can be very long and often require a lot of energy from the animals. In order to protect them in the area of busy roads, crossings and tunnels are created. Toad fences are used to help the animals find the crossings and get to their destination safely.

A toad fence is usually fixed so that it runs parallel to the road and guides the animals to go in a certain direction. The fence usually consists of a low trellis attached to posts. The toad net we offer is a flexible fabric that is tied to an existing fence to cover the function of a toad fence. The net is quick and easy to set up and take down when the toads migrate. Small stones or soil are usually placed along the bottom edge of the mesh to keep the fence stable and prevent animals from crawling under it. Alternatively, the fence can also be fixed with appropriate snap hooks.

The fabric is a ribbon Raschel fabric with a mesh size of 1 x 3 mm and a permeability of approx. 50%. On the long side, the tarpaulin is provided with a reinforcement and eyelets at a distance of 100 cm. The combination of polyethylene and mesh weave ensures that a water and air permeable tarpaulin is created that is resistant to weather and moisture, but also to acids, oils, alkalis and solvents. The air permeability of the mesh fabric prevents the tarpaulin from ballooning in strong winds.
