Ground anchor for anchoring fall safety nets in the ground. At the same time, the support disc functions as a cutting disc and, due to its lead angle, can be easily screwed into the ground. The fall safety net is simply hooked into the eyelet sticking out of the ground with a carabiner hook. Suitable for all types of ground.
Recommended interval: 2.50 m
The Schutznetze24 screw pickets were used over a 14 day (2 week) period as anchors to restrain the aerostat shown in the attached photographs. The photo on 4 Nov shows the 5 m diameter discus form aerostat laid out flat on a 6 m square ground sheet. The ground sheet's corners are tucked beneath (so it looks octagonal). Difficult to see, the aerostat in this photo also is held by 4 white lines (2 mm diameter) to the Schutznetze24 screw pickets installed at the 4 ground positions made available from tucking the ground sheet corners below - so is anchored (fixing the aerostat's position). The screw pickets were easy to install in the sandy soil of the region and subsequently held well. Inflation of the aerostat then proceeded. 2 weeks later photo p1 shows the aerostat still inflated and looking good having survived without problems through all weather conditions encountered (wind, rain, blown leaves from nearby trees, sub-zero temperatures most nights and generally cold damp conditions (often misty in the Spreewald region at this time of year). Aerostat deflation and packing then was undertaken. The p11 photo shows a red roller suitcase beside the ground sheet (still with its corner tucked below). It contains the aerostat folded and packed into it. The ground sheet later also was packed and put into the suitcase. In front of the red suitcase is the blower in a box with hoses used to inflate the aerostat. Beside the suitcase are red and white cotton bags used to carry the pickets. These are shown on the ground sheet in front - 16 small tent pegs for the ground sheet and the 4 larger screw pickets used to restrain the aerostat. There also is a bar between them used for screw picket ground installation/removal.
I am very pleased with the Schutznetze24 screw pickets, which were perfect for the purpose of anchoring the aerostat. As my aerostat project develops, intended for both tethered and free flight as an airship, I will be buying many more Schutznetze24 screw pickets - although that depends on customers who want to buy and fly the aerostat. I have a news item and many more photos if people would like to read/see more about the project.
