Beginners in tennis are especially familiar with the problem of spending more time looking for the balls than actually playing – so a catch net is a huge help here. Outdoor courts are enclosed by standard fixed fencing which stops balls from “escaping”. On indoor courts, there are often no standardised ball nets, due to which flexible nets are deployed.

In an indoor tennis court, the mesh size of 10 cm used in volleyball or indoor soccer is not sufficient as otherwise the tennis ball can pass through the net. Safetynet365 offers ball stop nets for tennis with a mesh size of 45 mm and a border running all around to provide adequate stability and flexibility. One option is to hang the ball net from the ceiling of the indoor court using hooks, clips or carabiners (you can find inspiration here). Alternatively, if you need to provide additional support at any “tricky points” on the exterior of the perimeter ball fence, it can be mounted on posts or poles.
The greater the material thickness, the greater the energy absorption capacity: however, a tennis ball net only requires a material thickness of 2.3 mm to catch the small, yellow, felt-covered ball. This is sufficient even in view of the fact that, when serving, professional players can send the ball at speeds of up to 150 mph. So the ball net also fulfils the additional function of protecting other visitors to the sports hall or courts.
As the net is designed more for the amateur area, it doesn’t have to follow a color code, so you can choose from different colors. In addition, all our nets are of tested quality: the polypropylene filament yarn is absolutely weatherproof and UV-stable.
