Basically, any object lying on a road represents a hindrance and hazard for road traffic. However, the hazard and accident potential increases if objects fall out of a moving trailer directly onto the road, and thus into the path of other drivers. If need be, it is possible to make a wide detour around something that is already lying on the road, although accidents can thereby occur too. However, if an object falls out of a trailer while driving, this can be extremely startling for other drivers and here the possible reaction time is reduced to a few seconds. Sometimes, a driver doesn’t even have that long – if, for example, vehicles are driving close behind the trailer.
With a trailer cover net, you can ensure that no materials or objects fall out of your trailer onto the road. The safety net can thereby be installed in a very short time and can be taken down equally fast for unloading. In the event of having to transport larger objects, such as heavy pieces of furniture, it is advisable to install a close-meshed net made of thicker material. When transporting smaller objects or, for example, small fragments of construction waste, it suffices to use a trailer net made of less thick material.
Important: Trailer cover nets offer a high degree of safety. However, they are not designed for transporting people! Basically, people should not ride in trailers. Even though a safety net may make it look as if it is safe to transport people, it is important to bear in mind that in the event of an accident, people can be injured even inside the net. They will not be thrown onto the road, but they can be severely injured on the loading area. So please make sure you do not allow people to ride on the loading area.
